MICROBLADING FAQ
Q. what is microblading?
A. Microblading is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-2 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done by using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each 'hair' is gently etched into the skin, giving a natural and realistic look. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow color.
Q. WHY NOT PERMANENT PIGMENTS?
A. To always maintain best results, short term is the best choice.
Permanent pigments can react poorly over time to prolonged sun exposure, chemical topicals and medications.
As we age, our face shapes change. Eyebrows frame the face and should always be sitting with their head(inner front) lower or parallel to their tails(outer ends).
Eyebrow trends change over time.
Q. DOES MICROBLADING HURT?
A. Comfort levels vary between clients. A topical numbing cream may be used to ease the pain.
Q. HOW LONG IS A MICROBLADING APPOINTMENT?
A. 1.5-2.5 hours depending on the amount of natural hair a client has and the desired size and shape. Follow-up appointments are generally shorter.
Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
A. The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. The color will fade by up to 30% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and begin to form a thin scab. Do not pick at the scabs as this will damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten in color as it heals. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You'll notice the color is very light at the 2 week mark; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed.
Q. HOW MUCH DOES MICROBLADING COST?
A. Roughly 15% of clients only need 1 appointment, 80% of clients needing a second “perfecting” session and 5% of clients require 3 sessions to build their ‘base brow’ - a base brow will last anywhere between 1-2 years and require a yearly maintenance appointment to maintain the integrity of the eyebrow. Darker pigments tends to hold longer.

Those on any skin medication such as Roaccutane or steroids that thin and over-sensitize the skin.*
Those taking blood thinning medication such as aspirin.*
Q. What are the pre/post care procedures?
A. In order to achieve the best results, it is best to follow the pre/post care instructions.
Prior to your procedure, clients are advised of the following:
Avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen and any medications or vitamins that may thin your blood for 72 hours.*
Avoid tanning so we can assess your natural skin tone.
Avoid face scrubs or chemical peels for two weeks prior to your appointment.
Avoid threading or waxing for the week prior to your appointment.
*always check with your doctor before STOPPING ANY MEDICATIONS.
After your procedure, clients MUST follow these instructions:
Before bed, the night of your procedure gently wash the area using clean hands with warm water and a liquid antibacterial soap such as ®Dial Gold. Do this for approximately 5-10 seconds. Rinse and pat dry with a clean towel.
Beginning on the second day; apply an unscented moisturizer sparingly as needed. Do this no more than twice a day.
When not cleaning or moisturizing keep hands away from the tattooed area. Natural oil's on your hands will pull pigment to the surface. (No rubbing or picking) If you have oily skin patting the area with a dry and clean paper towel a few times throughout the day can help retain more pigment.
Do not submerge the area in water and try to avoid getting the area wet while in the shower/bath. Keep area free of make up, hair, scrubs, peels, etc.
No swimming, tanning, excessive sweating, hot sauna, laser or chemical treatments, drinking in excess, driving in open air vehicle such as convertibles, boats and bicycles.
Once your scabs flake and peel off fully (approx. 7-15 days) you have finished the initial healing and are free to resume your normal day to day routine. Your tattoos will continue to heal for a total of four-six weeks. A second, more subtle layer of skin called the ‘Milk-skin’ will peel between the second and third week exposing more pigment.
Any strokes or spots where the pigment didn't hold will be filled in at your follow-up appointment. To prolong the life of your eyebrows care for them by applying sunscreen before sun exposure and avoid harsh chemicals or rough materials.
ARTIFICIAL FRECKLES FAQ
Q. what are artificial freckles?

Q. HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
A. Artificial Freckles can last anywhere from 1-3 years depending on the shade of pigment and your skin-care routine. Darker pigments tend to have a longer lifespan. Caring properly for your skin will help maintain the integrity of the freckles.
